Naval Weapon & Electronic Warfare Systems

Complex test and evaluation with advanced targets

Ensuring optimal integration of your naval weapon systems and electronic warfare systems in a platform’s battle management system is vital. Whether on the surface or subsurface, the performance of challenging and realistic test and evaluation (T&E) of the platform’s offensive and defensive capabilities is critical.

Staging complex T&E scenarios is nothing new to us at FMV Naval Test Ranges. We can deliver scenarios with advanced unmanned remotely-controlled aerial, surface and sub-surface targets to exercise your battle management systems, sensors and weapons. We can even support you in challenging your self-protection systems with different electronic warfare threats.

Maximise survivability against electronic warfare threats

To maximise your survivability, proper function and integration of your electronic warfare system is essential. At our Härnösand Naval Range, you can test your self-protection systems during realistic conditions and with live, simulated and emulated electronic warfare threats. Our offering includes:

  • Live jamming, including communication and GPS-jamming (NAVWAR)
  • Airborne and seaborne jammers
  • Live deployment of countermeasures

Our services also include test planning and preparation, trials execution (including necessary logistic support), test data collection and analysis and test reporting. Our experienced staff have the knowledge to guide your project through the complete process.

Systems-of-systems scenarios for your naval weapon systems

Our FMV Naval Test Ranges have the capability to host early development stand-alone proof-of-concept firings, or advanced systems-of-systems live firing scenarios where a weapon system on one platform is guided by a sensor at another platform. The systems-of-systems scenarios can be designed with a number of different main players such as:

  • Surface ships
  • Submarines and submarine weapons
  • Aircrafts
  • Helicopters
  • Coastal batteries

For early development, we can offer different T&E services such as the evaluation of warhead performance, target seeker behaviour or environmental survivability or electromagnetic compliance.

Be ready for frontline operations

Prepare your crew and vessel for any unwanted surprises, may it be in the air, on the surface or subsurface. Integrate a realistic element of surprise in your T&E effort and present a battlespace with threats from all angles – as you’d expect in a conflict with a technologically equal adversary.

Experience dynamic threats in four dimensions: air, surface, subsurface and electronic warfare using remote controlled drones and real and simulated naval electronic warfare systems. All of this can be achieved at FMV’s Härnösand Naval Range.
