Long-range artillery testing
Whether you’re looking to evaluate your artillery systems, crew or ordnance, FMV T&E has everything you need to help you execute your mission. We offer advanced technical T&E of your artillery equipment and systems, making sure that all the requirements and operational specifications have been met, while our experienced and dedicated team will provide you with technical and logistic support at every stage.
Ground-based air defence to keep your forces safe
As weapon systems become more diverse and capable, ground-based air defence (GBAD) plays an increasingly important role. Ground forces need protection against incoming artillery, rockets, missiles and aircraft. Testing GBAD systems requires a large, restricted space and realistic threats – both of which FMV T&E can deliver.
Typical GBAD systems tested are IRIS-T SL, SL-AMRAAM (NASAM), CAMM or RBS 70. We handle IR-, radar- or laser-guided weapons as well as high energy systems.
Using our advanced in-house target drones, realistic scenarios can be created that enable the thorough evaluation of the weapons. We document the weapon separation, trajectory and target impact. Telemetry (TM) and Flight Termination System (FTS) coverage is available within the whole range, and different types of jamming can also be performed.

Purpose-built, realistic targets
Accurate, reliable testing calls for realistic scenarios – with as close to real-world conditions as possible. We have a selection of targets available to choose from, which can be purpose-built to your requirements:
- Static targets – mannequins, containers and buildings
- Moving targets – vehicles or LIMO targets with different payloads
- Aerial targets with different payloads
- Customized characteristics such as IR, albedo (light reflectivity) and contrast
Projectile trajectories can also be closely monitored from firing to impact with a variety of technical measuring systems, giving total oversight into where each projectile impacts.

Karlsborg Test Centre is your ideal option when it comes to short-range firings, while at Älvdalen Firing Range, you’ll have access to a purpose-built hardened target area. If even more space is needed, Vidsel Test Range offers Europe’s largest overland proving ground.
