Test how your technology can make a difference for Sweden’s defence
Battle Week is a recurring test and demonstration week where companies showcase how their products or services can enhance military capability by addressing operational military challenges.
Together with end-users and experts, solutions are tested and demonstrated at FMV’s test and evaluation sites. This may involve complete systems, subsystems, or individual components. The focus is on functionality and real operational value.
Is Battle Week Relevant for My Company?
Today, many military innovations are developed outside the traditional defence industry, and civilian technologies can play a decisive role in defence contexts.
This edition of Battle Week is aimed at companies with technologies, products, components, or methods that can contribute to protecting critical infrastructure. You do not need to be an established defence supplier or have solutions already adapted for military use. What matters is whether your solution can contribute to military capability.
Military Challenge: Protecting Ground-Based Infrastructure Against Modern Threats
The first Battle Week focuses on the protection of ground-based static infrastructure, such as radar systems, across the full spectrum of conflict — from peacetime and grey-zone situations to war.
This includes strengthening the protection of:
- Sensor stations and other critical infrastructure
- Power supply, communications, access routes, and service facilities
- Systems and networks against IT and cyberattacks, electronic warfare, and physical attacks
Solutions may be new and untested or already exist in some form and may require adaptation to a military context. Most solutions contribute by strengthening part of a larger system rather than solving the entire challenge.
What Does Participation Involve?
If selected, you will have the opportunity—against a participation fee—to demonstrate and test your solution in a realistic environment at FMV Test and Evaluation facilities.
You will receive structured feedback, access to test data, and the opportunity to engage with end-users, experts, and decision-makers from Sweden, allied nations, and partner countries.
Following the completion of Battle Week, results are compiled in a report that may form the basis for continued dialogue, further development, or future procurement processes. Any procurement activities are conducted separately and outside of Battle Week.
Financing and Costs
The registration fee is SEK 500,000 to 1,000,000 (excluding VAT) per registered solution. Swedish companies can apply for financial support for the fee from Vinnova in the form of infrastructure checks.
Billing is done after companies have accepted the invitation. Registered companies are responsible for travel, accommodation, and any freight linked to the demonstration week.
Swedish companies have the opportunity to apply for financial support related to the fee at Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova in the form of infrastructure vouchers. The vouchers are funded by the Civil-Military Innovation Program (CMIP), which is a joint initiative by Vinnova and the Swedish Armed Forces. The CMIP call is aimed at Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with innovative solutions that can be developed and adapted to military applications.
More information about the support will be published on vinnova.se after March 17, 2026

About From Innovation to Battlefield Demonstration Week
From Innovation to Battlefield Demonstration Week is run by FMV's Test and Evaluation business area and is a collaboration between FMV, the Swedish Armed Forces, FOI and the Swedish National Defence University. Within the framework of the project, sharp military challenges are presented and invited companies are given the opportunity to investigate previous trials and demonstrate their solutions at test and evaluation test sites.
Several Battle Weeks are held throughout the year with a focus on different military problems and domains. Even if the current challenge is not relevant to your company, future Battle Weeks may be.
