Taking responsibility for our environmental impacts
Environmental factors are integrated into FMV's business management system and form a key part of our business planning. We must constantly improve our operations and reduce our negative environmental impact, as well as work toward achieving national environmental quality goals and contributing to the UN's Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
We do this by taking into account both the indirect environmental impact from our procurement activities, as well as our direct environmental impact, which primarily consists of energy and water consumption, the impact from business trips, test operations and waste management.
Active and long-term environmental work
FMV takes social responsibility through our active and long-term environmental work.
We commit to:
- integrate environmental considerations, balanced against financial and technical requirements, into all our operations.
- identify, evaluate and comply with the laws and other relevant environmental requirements applicable to us and our activities.
- put in place and follow up on well-balanced and relevant environmental requirements for our suppliers.
- deliver equipment and services to our customers, with consideration for the environmental perspective throughout the life cycle.
- create good conditions for our employees to take active environmental responsibility.
- exhibit a high level of environmental expertise with relation to the defence equipment and services we deliver.
- conduct test activities with the least possible environmental impact.
- carry out our business trips, transport and meetings in a climate-efficient way.
- streamline our energy use while steering towards renewable energy sources.
- communicate our environmental work in a transparent and clear manner.
- continuously monitor and evaluate our environmental work to improve our environmental performance.
