COLD WEATHER TRIALS FOR AJAX
FMV T&E supported the British Army with the Cold Weather Trials for Ajax – its new fleet of Armoured Fighting Vehicles.
AJAX is an advanced fleet of armoured fighting vehicles being built by General Dynamics UK for the British Army. The trials were carried out to ensure an all-weather capability in extremely harsh winter conditions in collaboration between DE&S, the British Army, FMV Test & Evaluation and the Swedish Armed Forces at the Tåme firing range.
During the trials, the AJAX and ARES platforms, sensors and weapon systems were exposed to harsh Swedish winter conditions with temperatures down to -36°C. The Cold Weather Trials spanned several weeks and included live firing of static and moving targets in very adverse weather conditions.
